NOT BY MIGHT BUT BY MY SPIRIT SAYS THE LORD

In our passage today, Zechariah saw the vision of a lampstand with seven pipes on it and two Olive trees at the right and left side of the lampstand to supply oil to the lamps regularly (v. 2-3). This vision had direct connection to the temple and the duties of the priests in the temple which Zerubbabel had started to rebuild (v.9). Through, he could not understand the vision immediately, the angel of the Lord interpreted it to him. The Oil that came from the two Olive trees represented the Spirit of God which gives power to every believer to accomplish his or her God-given assignment (v.6). Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry accomplished His own assignment within the space of three and half years by the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:18-19).

God has promised us His unlimited power to accomplish the assignment He has given us but you cannot enjoy this when you disconnect from the power source (the Holy Spirit). Your knowledge, skill, wisdom or physical strength without the help of the Holy cannot yield any tangible result. If you depend on the strength of the Holy Spirit like Zerubbabel did, nothing will be difficult for you to achieve in life. All you need to do is to stay connected to Him, fellowship with Him regularly in prayer, reading of God's word and obeying His instructions.

PRAYER: O Lord my God, help me to stay connected to the Holy Spirit for regular supply of God's resources in Jesus Name. Amen
