PROCRASTINATION

 Ecclesiastes 11:1-10

PROCRASTINATION

Procrastination is deferring, delaying, or putting off an opportunity. "Tomorrow" is the busiest day of people's lives. This is because many people defer until tomorrow what they should do today and end up never really performing the tasks. There is a common understanding that the more an opportunity is delayed in being taken advantage of, the longer and more difficult it becomes. Verse 4 of our text says that He that observes the wind shall not sow; and he that regards the clouds shall not reap. There is always a time of sowing and it comes before harvest. If a man wastes his sowing time looking at human fears and discouragements, harvest time may be put off forever.

Circumstances sometimes discourage us from doing what we are supposed to do, but the Scripture today is encouraging us to move beyond the discouragements. What is it that God is leading you to do? What task has He laid in your heart to accomplish? Do not look at the size of your challenges but consider He who has promised to see you through. Go ahead and sow your seed as God leads you and allow Him to bring the fruits in due time.

PRAYER:    Lord, deliver me from my fears and fill my heart with faith.
